Getting Started Getting Started
This chapter explains how to get started with BitKeeper and documents commonly used BitKeeper commands. This chapter will teach how to:
- set up a repository, including general set up and user preferences
- populate a repository, both importing large groups of files and adding individual files
- work with a repository, including making a copy, sharing changes, and backing out changes
This guide assumes the BitKeeper software has been installed for
you.
To verify it has been installed, try the
bk version
command.
If version information doesn't come up, please follow the
installation instructions in
Appendix A.
