BitMover Achieves Record Growth in Second Quarter

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Aug 31, 2005 -- BitMover Inc., the provider of BitKeeper, the SCM industry's only peer-to-peer collaborative development tool, today announced a record increase in commercial users during the second quarter of 2005.

BitMover achieved a 23% increase in total commercial users during the second quarter of this year. This increased user base resulted in a 70% rise in revenue over the same quarter in 2004. This strong second quarter performance has boosted BitMover's year-to-date revenue to nearly double that experienced during the first half of 2004. BitMover is increasing its development staff as well as strengthening the company infrastructure to continue providing its customers with the outstanding support that has become its hallmark.

"Today's development environment is extremely competitive and the market is realizing that BitKeeper's unique architecture can provide companies with just the edge they need," said Bob Burres, VP of Sales at BitMover. "This rapid growth has come from not only new customers, but from our existing customers who are increasing their BitKeeper usage. Once managers see the increased productivity associated with BitKeeper, it's an easy decision to deploy it throughout their organization."

With BitMover's strengthened commercial focus, it is expected that the BitKeeper technology will further distance itself from other SCM tools that are available in the market today. BitKeeper's unique peer-to-peer, distributed architecture, is the perfect foundation for an array of new features that will address the toughest challenges associated with today's complex development environment.
